Rambles.

By atiysanlee · February 4, 2010 · 1 Comment · 26 Views

Hey ladies.

I know my haul reviews are stuck midway. I have them in the draft but I'm kinda lazy to upload the pics. Haha. I know. Bad blogger huh.

Anyhoos, I have two events that I'm excited for this first half of the yr.

The first one is the BACKSTREET BOYS concert this end of the month! WOOHOO! Who else is going?? As usual I'm going to go with my 4 of my girlfriends and we bought the $148 tix! LOL, I know, such fanatics right? And we're all darn excited about it. :)

This concert is actually for their new album called 'This Is Us' and I hate most of their songs from this album. The beat and music is the same for ALL the songs. I hate them. I only love their classics which I know they're gonna perform. Can't wait! ;P

The second one is, I'm going to NORWAY this June if everything as goes as planned, Insyaallah. We'll be staying over one of my girlfriend aunt's place. So, I kind of just have to have money for the flight and expenses over there. Flight wise, we are gonna try to book earliest by next week or latest by end of the month. Going there by Thai Airways.

Its going to be spring over there in June. And I heard its going to be beautiful at that time of the year. Omg, just talking about it makes me excited already. Hehe. I'm trying to not feel overexcited about it cos you know what usually happens when we feel overexcited about something. ;)

I cant wait to go. And it’s the first time I'm gonna travel outside Asia and its only me and my girlfriend going! OMG. I can't contain my excitement. Eeeeeeks! *Breathe in, breathe out*

On another topic.

I actually plan to find another job since I've been here at my current job for 2 years already and I need something more fast pace. Business has slowed down and there's nth much to do. There are just so many time when I have nothing to do. It is not challenging anymore as opposed to when I came in the first year.

But since I need to save money for my Norway trip, I need to stay till June, and since I'm staying till June, its better that I stay for Hari Raya also right. AND since I'm staying for Hari Raya, its better for me to stay till end of the year to collect my bonus right? So, I can only change my job next year wic is bloody long!

See, with this kinda thinking, how can I ever achieve something of a better level? Gosh.

Oh dear this is such a long post as oppose to my other posts. Haha.

Till the next entry. When I'm not as lazy. ;P

Sunsilk's Leave Ons Disappearing from Watsons shelves?

By atiysanlee · January 31, 2010 · 2 Comments · 54 Views

I was searching high and low for the Sunsilk Leave ons for awhile now and I can't seem to find them at any Watsons outlets!

Well, good thing i saw there's Mustafa Centre but I'm kinda worried that they wont restock after it is sold out.

I just like it for the smell actually. But i see this item as a need cos its inexpensive ($4) and it is helpful after getting funny smell on my hair.

I started using Dove's leave on since i cant find this but Dove's are pricier and a rare find at Watsons from the start.

I really hope its not discontinued or smthing man.

Anyway, the scrub, ran out of mine (Invigorating) and it is sold out at Mustafa! The Whitening ones are the only ones left so what the heck, I just purchase them. The texture of the scrub is close to the invigorating one so, it still is alright. ;)

NYX Lippies and Sephora Gloss

By atiysanlee · January 31, 2010 · 4 Comments · 89 Views

Lets start with the lippies alright?

i love my new Blackberry's camera! its the almost exact colour for all the lippies. i dun even have to edit to fill light or watever.

Bought the NYX round lipstick that's been raved by almost everyone. Honey, Fig and Thalia.

Pigmented smooth and easy to apply are these darlings altho it doesnt have good staying power but for the price, its excellent.

Honey: This colour is so not me. Not even as a nudie. Most ppl will say it could be used as a concealer for the lips but i tink it could be used as a concealer for my face due to the colour! Lol. I'm not feeling this one.

Fig: Mad pigmented! If i were to glide everything fully on my lips, it looks porn-starrish. So for this one, i'll use a lip brush for light application and the colour is what i'll call my kinda pink. Suits my skintone and such. Loves.

Thalia: My absolute favourite for this one! This colour on my lips actually comes out sheer. So, its wearable for an everyday colour. A definite repurchasable colour.

i wanted so much to try the shade in Tea Rose but the blogshop that i purchase these darlings from ran out of it.

I'm sorry i forgot to take a pic of the Lipglosses. But mine's the Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in 11 and 15. Bought this earlier this mth when they're having 2 for $30 promo. They're $20 each.

Definitely ultra shiny but its not heavy looking.

Staying power is impressive for something non-sticky.

Yummylicious smell to it, I could eat them.

Repurchasable product.

They look similar, yes, but personally if i were to repurchase, i'd buy No. 15. :)

Later!

No, this blog is not dead yet! ;P

so sorry for neglecting this space! been busy busy busy!

to make it up, here are some of the beauty related things that i bought from the last update till now. Some repurchased, some new.

don't worry! i'll go thru each one of them at the next post alright?

working on it as soon as i post this entry up. :)

anyways, i won this Loreal Derma Genesis set for a contest on Fr3b.com for the top 5 best review. My first win for any kinda contests/giveaways that i participate in! ;)

till the next update! :)

Eye Cream(s) Review

By atiysanlee · December 15, 2009 · 4 Comments · 704 Views

Hey girls..

I'm baack! Enjoyed my Batam trip thoroughly even though some weird things happened but all went well. :)

Gonna review on 3 eye creams that have been tried and tested by me.

1) The Skin Nutritious Effect Eye Cream - The Face Shop (Around $30+/30g)

Taken from their website:

Concept

Using Nano Concentrated Technology, this multi-functional anti-aging line offers 4 skin rejuvenating effects: nourishing, Improving elasticity, brightening skin tone, and reducing and preventing wrinkles.

Description

Protein complex of beans, rice peptides and yeast and Vitamin B3 in this rich textured cream brightens dark circles by improving poor blood circulation. Acti-firm complex firms and rejuvenates the deeper layer of the skin for greater elasticity. Your delicate eye areas will be more supple and bright.

I bought this cos I was kinda pressured to around 1 and a half year ago. Haha. Westmall's Face Shop staffs are very articulate and a bit pushy at selling. After you take one thing, they'll introduce you another thing and then another and another. I think I was buying the eyeliner and blush when the salesperson commented on my eye area. So, this product was bought. Jeng jeng jeng.

My Say: The texture of this cream is Gel-like. When I first apply some on my eye area, I find it too heavy and sticky. The label did state can be put under makeup. But since its heavy and sticky, how can I apply my concealer on top right? I've tried minimising the amount applied but it's still the same. Plus it stings kinda bad.

So, after a few days and since I can't use under makeup, I switch to the next eye cream.

Artistry Replenishing Crème - Amway (Around $23/15ml)

Taken from the website

Progressive and long-term benefits in reducing dark under-eye circles:

· Noticeably reduces the appearance of dark under-eye circles within 24 hours.

· Clinical tests showed significant and continual improvement in the appearance of dark circles.

· 30% improvement recorded within 16 weeks of use.

Features and benefits:

· Purified water extract of Linseed and Licorice Extract Derivative help reduce inflammation and sooth the area around the eye.

· Vitamin A and Centella Asiatica extract effectively regulate and strengthen skin around the eye.

· Artistry’s exclusive Hydrolipid Matrix provides deep hydration to regulate the appearance of fine lines.

· Contains Citrus Bioflavonoids from Lemon, Ruby Grapefruit and Royal Mandarin Orange from Nutrilite and Bitter Orange Flowers. Citrus

Bioflavonoids strengthen capillary walls in the delicate skin around the eye – this helps prevent blood leakage that causes dark under-eye circles.

· Fragrance-free, ophthalmologist and allergy tested, non-comedogenic – will not clog pores and safe for contact lens users.

I have been using this for the longest time. Right after I bought the Face Shop's. And I only change to my 2nd tube recently.

My Say: The texture is like a lightweight cream. It really goes into the skin after dabbing it around your eyes. This work wonders with my dark circle. Visibly reduce the dark circle. I notice the change after around 6 months of using this. Its great under makeup and a bit of it will do thus lasting me this long per tube. Doesn’t sting at all and last sentence bolded above, safe for contact lens users; ME! :)

After improving on the dark circles under my eye, I wanted something for the under the eye fine lines.

So, I tried the next product from Fr3b.

Dermalogica Total Eye Care - Retail Price ($98/15ml)

Taken from website

Protect and hydrate your delicate eye area with Dermalogica Total Eye Care. This incredibly light and effective cream refreshes, fights wrinkles and nourishes your eye area for a radiant, bright-eyed glow.

The Dermalogica Total Eye Care offers protection and refreshment to the vulnerable eye area with a unique Dermalogica blend of hydroxy acids, an SPF15 chemical free sunscreen, while reducing puffiness with botanicals and circle-concealing optical light diffusers.

My Say: The texture's creamy. The first time I tried this at night, it stings soooo bad till I water. The stinging even stayed for a few hours. It was worse when I tried to apply it under makeup when I had my contacts on. Stings like hell. But its great as as a eye makeup base. I still have some product left after using it for 3 days straight. I didn’t see results since I just use this for three days plus I just hate the sting.

Meanwhile, I use Artistry's as a day eye cream, Face Shop's as a night eye cream and for the fine lines, I'll continue on the search. :)

Twilight New Moon & Couples Retreat Movie Review

By atiysanlee · December 6, 2009 · 5 Comments · 32 Views

Rating: PG

Genre: Drama

No introduction needed for this movie. Nevertheless, here's a short snippet of the movie.

After Bella recovers from the vampire attack that almost takes her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella's blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks in Washington, for Bella and Edward's sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even closer friendship with Jacob Black. Danger in different forms awaits.

My Say: This movie is as boring as the book. In fact New Moon is the most dull book out of the four,. So. those who have not read the book, expect it to be boring. It is a 2 and a half hour movie and what I like about it is, it is so straight out of the book. Like you're watching what you read unlike other popular novel adapted movies.

And the highlight of the show and what me and my gfs look forward to is:

JACOB BLACK!

This guy makes Edward Cullen look gay. Omg look at those abs man. I wish Stephenie Meyer writes a book on what if Bella chooses Jacob and makes a movie out of it. I'll be the first to everything! haha. Ok enough.

Anyway, when everyone was raving about Twilight last year, I was one of those who thinks I'm too cool for any kind of fanatical stuff until I watch the movie a few months after the DVD came out. And I'm sold!

Rating: NC 16

Genre: Comedy

Four Midwestern couples embark on a journey to a tropical island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three is sucked into the resort's couples therapy. They soon discover that participation in the resorts couples therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price.

My Say: I watched this with my younger sis and I wish I didn't. Please watch this with your other half. Married or not married. If you are married some parts of the movie could knock some things into our heads especially on the men. If you are not married. Some things to look out for when you're married. One thing about the movie tho, I keep looking at my watch. Its not as engaging as it should be.

Overall, a good and funny couples movie with a beautiful setting. I'm gonna rent the DVD when it comes out to watch with the man. :)

P.S:  The auntie at the counter actually asks me for my age and looks unconvinced when I told her but she didn't ask my younger sis who's 4 years younger than me. I shall be flattered.

Loreal Ultra-Volume Collagene

By atiysanlee · December 1, 2009 · 6 Comments · 43 Views

I've been wanting to try this eversince it came out. I tink this is a non-waterproof one cos it doesn't state anything on the packaging. Got this at Watsons at an offer price of  $20.90. U.P is $24.90.

the brush. its kinda huge for my liking.

before. pardon my imperfect eye area. ;/

after.

Likes: How it volumized, lengthen and separates my lashes individually.

Dislikes: The globs at the end that you have to use another brush to remove it. Somehow, when I apply this, I can feel something going into my eye but I cant figure what. LOL

My Say: Its a so-so product. I have to curl my lashes before putting them because its kinda heavy. If I don't, my eyelashes will look droopy. I'll still use this when I'm not in a hurry cos I love how it volumized, lengthen and separates my lashes individually. Hey, beauty don't need rush. :)

Please note that reviews are done and tested personally by me. What works for me may not work for you. Nevertheless, no harm trying. :)

Christmas Wishlist

By atiysanlee · December 1, 2009 · 3 Comments · 23 Views

hey ladies.

I was tagged by fhy to do this list. Thanks fhy!

I don't celebrate Christmas, I just exchange gifts with my colleagues and we'll have a Christmas lunch since on the eve of Christmas is a half day for us. And thats about it.

I definitely love the exchanging gifts part, who doesn't? haha. And yes, I am done with Christmas gifts shopping. Yay! :)

Lets get on with the list. I don't have much cos I'm the sorta person who'll get what I want as soon as I feel like getting it.

So, here goes. :)

1) Blackberry Bold

I'm using an IPhone now and we have this love-hate relationship. I love the functions but I hate the phone that sorta thing. So, this is my next ideal phone! Ooooh yeah.

2) A Sony Vaio Netbook in White or MacBookPro in Black

Who doesn't want any of this babies?

3) Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Eye Concentrate

Its everywhere! Fine lines and dark circles visibly reduced within 7days? Too good to be true? I got to give this a try. But $98 bucks for an eye cream, someone please get this for me! hehe

4) A Bling from the man please!

After 4 years plus of being together, I'd just want a bling from him. No, it doesnt have to mean anything, I just want one from him. haha. and I repeat, it doesn't have to mean anything. ;P

That's it for my list. Even if I dont get any as gifts, I'm getting some myself even if it takes time. Except for the bling of course. haha.

Anyways, I'm on MC for two days cos I have a mild slip disc. I woke up yesterday with a very strained lower back and I could feel the pain till my foot. I cant bend down, sit up straight or even climb up the stairs without feeling the pain. I managed a whole day of work surprisingly.

It doesn't go away so went to the doctor today and he said that. I'm gonna do an X-ray if the pain till the legs come again. I hope I don't have to. boohoo.

I hope I can do more updates later. Tata! :)

Superdrug Vitamin E Cleanser & Eye Make-Up Remover

By atiysanlee · November 28, 2009 · 6 Comments · 82 Views

this is how the product looks like. got this at Watsons for $6.95 i think.

i was about to get the Mandom makep remover everyone was raving about when i saw this and for half price cheaper, decided to give it a try.

It claims: Our naturally sourced Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which not only revitalises and protects the the skin, it also helps combat the damaging effects of free radicals and shields it against the environment. This fragrance fee 2-in-1 cleanser and eye make-up remover removes daily impurities, dirt and make-up without drying the skin, to leave a clean and fresh feeling complexion.

it comes without the stopper as above so when i try it the first time i always get too much product. so i decided to transfer to another bottle with a toner stopper as below.

got this at Shop n Save. comes with another bottle of the same kind a pump bottle for $2.55.

gonna test this on a gel-liner cos my gel liner is one tough ass one when it comes to cleaning properly. it will usually leave residues even after proper cleansing.

squeeze that amount on a cotton pad and rub in it circular motions.

so this is what thats left after the first cleansing. so, you'll need another bit to fully clean it.

My Say: I judge an eye make-up cleanser by if my eyelashes drop as I cleanse. So far, none of my eyelashes do with this one. But its hard to tell. One thing I love is the creaminess of this product. Since its creamy and as I clean, I like the feeling that it doesnt go dry and then tug my skin at the eye area.

The only bad is since its creamy, it will go into your eye. And there is this warning of avoid direct contact with the eyes. :O

got this at Pink Beauty over at Westmall and I love the colour! $4.90. :)

What are you ladies gonna be doing this beautiful Saturday?

I was suppose to go out with mummylove but we have surprise guests that came all the way frm KL & Malacca yesterday.

so, mummylove's gonna be busy in the kitchen. boohoo. :P

Enjoy your weekend! :)
